Prime Trucking Inc. is a nationwide trucking company currently headquartered in Springfield Missouri. It also includes frozen foods such as ice cream and other frozen foods. Refrigerated trailers keep products at the correct temperature to maintain optimum levels of product freshness to ensure the quality of the products. Prime has a flatbed division which transports products which require being transported in flatbed trailers such as building materials, wide load, over-sized loads, over length loads, or loads of any combination thereof. It also has a tanker division which transports a wide variety of products such as milk, gasoline, fertilizer, various gases, oils, concrete, solvents as well as dry bulk.

Prime offers a variety of truck driver jobs. Prime has positions for company drivers. These drivers are employees of the company and they drive trucks and trailers provided by the company. Prime also has positions for owner operators or independent operators which manage their own business. These drivers often lease trucks provided by Prime through a lease purchase agreement often with no credit check or down payment required. Payments for the trucks are usually deducted from weekly settlements. These drivers plan to eventually own these trucks.

Types of trucks that drivers can lease through Prime Inc. include brands such as Kenworth, Peterbuilt, Freightliner, Century, and Cascadia. Trailers are provided at no charge and include tank trailers, refrigerated trailers, and flatbed trailers.

Prime has a company sponsored driver training program where applicants that don’t have a Commercial Drivers License can for a fee train and receive CDL Training plus paid over the road experience with a trainer. Applicants must pass be at least 21 years old and receive a driving permit. After training, drivers must pass the CDL Licensing exam to receive a commercial drivers license. Applicants must also pass the Department Of Transportation Medical Exam to be allowed to drive a commercial vehicle. New drivers often train with a trainer for four to six months to gain actual over the road driving experience. Applicants should have good physical health before enrolling in the paid CDL training offered by Prime Inc. because if they fail to pass the CDL Licensing Exam or the D.O.T. Medical Exam they cannot drive, but they will owe the entire amount of the training fee to Prime Inc. and they won’t have a job with Prime.

Basic Medical Requirements require the applicant to have Blood Pressure levels below 140/90.
Eyesite must by at least 20/40 or better in each eye with corrective lenses if needed.
Hearing must be good at applicants must be able to hear a strong whisper at a distance of six feet.
Drivers with diabetes must be able to control their sugar levels without medication.
Heart conditions and any other medical conditions must be disclosed to the medical examiner for a determination of physical fitness to be able to drive a commercial vehicle.

Experienced drivers are encouraged to apply for positions as Prime Trucking is always on the lookout for drivers and contractors. Of course, they want safe drivers to reduce accidents.

Other qualifications are as follows:

Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
Applicants must have a valid CDL from the state that you declare to be your point of permanent domicile.
Applicants must have a valid Class A CDL.
Applicants must have a current D.O.T. Medical Card or be able to Pass a D.O.T. Medical Exam to receive a new card.
Applicants must be able to pass a drug test.
Applicants must not have a criminal record.
Applicants must have a minimum of ten years driving work history, or five years of non-driving work history if applicant does not have ten years of actual driving work history.
Applicants must be a citizen of the United States or be a holder of a Green Card.
Applicants must have an accident-free driving experience for the past three years.
Applicants must have a stable work history with good references.
Applicants must be prepared to work long hours with minimum supervision.
Applicants must not have a record of abandoned trucks at previous employers.
Applicants must successfully complete the starting classes for Contractors or orientation for new employees.
